The Belle Plaine Parks & Recreation Department has been serving the citizens of Belle Plaine for over 35 years.  The City of Belle Plaine was one of the first and smallest communities in the state to establish a Parks & Recreation Department.  The department has one full-time director and three Park Board members. 

The purpose of the Parks & Recreation Department is to provide opportunity, leadership, and coordination for the use of recreation programs and park facilities in the community. 

The Department has and will continue to serve Belle Plaine by:

• Understanding quality of life in the community
• Providing a variety of programs & activities
• Listening & respecting every person & their opinion
• Providing up to date facilities and equipment
